Pittsburgh, PA – Five Injured in Head-on Bus Collision on Cedar Ave

Pittsburgh, PA (May 11, 2023) – Five people sustained injuries in a head-on collision involving a bus that took place in Pittsburgh on the morning of Wednesday, May 10.

According to local officials, the accident happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Suismon Street. Police confirmed that a passenger vehicle was traveling in the area when the driver crossed the center line, slamming head-on into a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus. The vehicle, identified as a small gray car, was badly damaged in the accident.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the gray vehicle was unconscious, but paramedics found that they were breathing. The bus driver, as well as three passengers, were also hurt in the collision. The parties were all hospitalized but are expected to make full recoveries.

The roadway was blocked off in the area of the accident until police cleared the scene. This led to extensive delays for some time.
