Pittsburgh, PA (October 12, 2020) – Around 7:18 a.m. on Monday morning, October 12, a fatal three-vehicle crash took place at an intersection in Pittsburgh.

According to officials, the accident took place at the intersection of South 18th Street and Crossman Street when three vehicles collided with one another. Two of the vehicles were identified as a minivan and a cement truck.

Police confirmed that the minivan and the cement truck collided head-on with one another. The minivan then veered out of its lane and collided with a third vehicle that was parked alongside the street.

The driver of the minivan was critically injured and had to be removed from the minivan where he was then taken to a hospital for treatment. An unidentified passenger in the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was able to get out on his own and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was closed in both directions for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
