Pittsburgh, PA (July 13, 2021) – On Monday afternoon, July 12, an ambulance accident occurred at an intersection in Pittsburgh.

According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Ellsworth Avenue and South Aiken Avenue. A passenger vehicle was traveling in the area when it collided with an ambulance for reasons that are not yet known. The passenger vehicle tipped over during the accident, which led to extensive damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Two paramedics were also injured inside the ambulance but they are expected to be okay.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
