Train Accidents in Pennsylvania
Though train accidents are not nearly as common as other accidents in Pennsylvania, they still continue to happen and lead to extensive harm every year. In 2021, it was reported that approximately 234 fatalities and 669 railroad-related injuries took place throughout the U.S. due to the negligence of others. Especially when pedestrians are involved in these accidents, they tend to lead to some of the most catastrophic results. This is due to the fact that pedestrians have no protection from harm in the event of an accident involving one of these large modes of transportation. If you have been hurt in a train crash, you should speak with an attorney who has your best interests in mind.
Moving forward after a train crash can be a difficult thing to do. This is especially true knowing that these accidents tend to lead to life-altering injuries, such as some of the following:
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Spinal cord injuries
- Internal organ damage
- Paralysis
These injuries sometimes land victims in the hospital for days, weeks, or months at a time. On top of this, they cause victims to miss out on time at work.
