Philadelphia, PA (July 28, 2018) Early Saturday morning, around 3:30 a.m., a collision occurred on Frankford Avenue near Levick Street. The wreck involved an SUV and a regular sized vehicle. The impact of the collision caused the SUV to flip over. The EMS transported one of the drivers to the hospital due to injuries.
The cause of the collision is unclear, but more investigation will determine who is liable and at fault.
Car accidents occur daily for a multitude of reasons, the main reason being negligence. Negligence is defined as committing a careless act that endangers another person. Negligent driving consists of driving under the influence, speeding, eating, applying make-up, conversing with a passenger, paying attention to something other than the road, utilizing a device, or falling asleep at the wheel. Although there are emergencies that cause people to commit such acts, driving is not the best time to do so. If a negligent driver causes an accident that results in injuries for the other driver, then a personal injury lawsuit can be filed as long as the negligent behavior can be proved.
In this case, more investigation will determine which driver is liable and who is eligible to file a claim in order to receive compensation for damages and losses. Injured victims deserve to receive financial assistance, especially if their injuries are severe or catastrophic. Being in a car accident is a stressful situation but having an experienced lawyer to help with the legal process will help alleviate some of that stress.
