Car Accidents in Pennsylvania
Car crashes in the state of Pennsylvania leave tens of thousands of people injured every year. Unfortunately, these accidents often force victims to undergo extensive medical treatment for the injuries they suffer.
Common injuries that are reported in automobile collisions include:
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Dislocations
- Broken bones
- Spinal cord injuries
- Seatbelt injuries
- Internal bleeding
- Burns
Any type of serious injury has the potential to require extensive medical treatment and force victims out of work for several weeks or even months. Unfortunately, when accidents involve multiple vehicles, the chances of suffering serious injuries are drastically increased. Some of the leading factors in multi-vehicle accidents that take place across our state include:
- Speeding: Excessive speed reduces the ability to stop in time during sudden traffic slowdowns.
- Poor Road Maintenance: Neglected roads with potholes or inadequate signage can contribute to accidents.
- Distracted Driving: Drivers using phones, eating, or engaging in other distractions can cause chain reactions if vehicle drivers do not see other vehicles stopping or slowing nearby.
- Drunk or Impaired Driving: Alcohol or drugs impair judgment and reaction time, which can increase the chances of accidents taking place.
If you have been harmed as a result of an automobile accident, you may be able to take legal action. It is imperative to seek guidance from a Philadelphia car accident lawyer immediately. An attorney will be able to start gathering evidence on your behalf and building a strong case against the defendant.
