Philadelphia, PA – Three Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash at 30th St & Diamond St
Philadelphia, PA (May 3, 2023) – Three people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision that took place at an intersection in Philadelphia on Monday night, May 1.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened before 10 p.m. at the intersection of 30th Street and Diamond Street at the Strawberry Mansion. Police confirmed that a red 2019 Dodge SUV was traveling in the area when it slammed into several other vehicles that were parked on the side of the road and then an apartment building. The Dodge then slammed into a Subaru passenger vehicle and then struck a home, a traffic light, and multiple other vehicles. The driver then got out of the Dodge and fled the scene.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene. The passenger left behind in the Dodge, as well as the driver and passenger inside the Subaru, all three sustained injuries in the accident. They were hospitalized but are expected to be okay.
Due to the severe damages caused by the crash, including a hole in the apartment building, the roadway was blocked off for several hours. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues. Police will update with new information as it becomes available.
