Serious Car Accidents in Philadelphia

Auto accidents resulting in injuries and even fatalities take place far too often across the state of Pennsylvania. In fact, according to traffic authorities and officers across our state, these serious crashes are the cause of thousands of injuries every month. Unfortunately, there are many instances where crashes take place on our roadways that are completely preventable. Some of the most common factors in automobile collisions are:

  • Intoxicated driving: Drivers operating their vehicles under the influence of alcohol or drugs have impaired judgment and reduced reaction times, making them more likely to hit another vehicle or person.
  • Driving while distracted: Drivers who are distracted behind the wheel often fail to yield the right-of-way to other vehicles while traveling through intersections or switching lanes, which is a significant cause of motor vehicle accidents.
  • Reckless driving: Excessive speed reduces a driver’s ability to react to unexpected situations, making it more likely for them to collide with other drivers who are traveling on the roadway.

After an accident, victims can file a personal injury claim against the responsible party, whether they want to build a case as a driver or a passenger who was hurt as a result of a motorist’s negligence. These legal claims can provide financial relief for some of the losses and damages the victims face. This can include recovering compensation for medical costs, lost earnings, pain and suffering, and more.
