Philadelphia, PA – Steven Thompson Killed in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Levick St

Philadelphia, PA (February 20, 2023) – A man was killed, and several others were injured in a fatal collision that took place in Philadelphia on the morning of Monday, February 20.

According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened around 1:35 a.m. at 2700 Levick Street. Police confirmed that a Chevrolet was traveling north on Roosevelt while an Audi was traveling in the same direction. Both of the vehicles turned east onto Levick Street when the Chevrolet suddenly ran into a metal pole and was rear-ended by the driver of the Audi. Both vehicles were extensively damaged as a result.

Several Philadelphia responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A passenger in the back of the Chevrolet, identified as 21-year-old Steven Thompson, was tragically pronounced deceased after being rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. Another passenger in the vehicle, identified as a 20-year-old male, was rushed to Einstein Medical Center with critical injuries.

Police also confirmed that two people inside the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries. They were identified as a 23-year-old driver and a 19-year-old front passenger. The driver and passenger in the Audi, both identified as 21-year-olds, were hospitalized and are also expected to be okay.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic as police worked to clear the scene.
