Philadelphia, PA – Pedestrian Accident with Serious Injuries on Roosevelt Blvd
Philadelphia, PA (January 26, 2023) – Around 3:30 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, January 26, a pedestrian was seriously injured in a Philadelphia pedestrian accident.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard ad Levick Street, one of the most dangerous areas in Philly, according to police. A 50-year-old pedestrian was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a tow truck. The driver of the tow truck remained at the scene and told police that he tried to avoid debris in the road, striking the pedestrian.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was critically injured and rushed to a local hospital for treatment. He remains at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital at this time and is expected to make a recovery, though he suffered from a skull fracture and other related injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time until police were able to clear the scene. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
No further details have been released, but police continue their investigation into the accident. Police will update when new information becomes available.
We offer our warmest thoughts and prayers to the pedestrian injured in this accident with hopes of a full recovery.
