Philadelphia, PA (February 9, 2021) – Around 4 a.m. on February 7, a pedestrian accident took place on a roadway in Philadelphia.
According to police, the accident happened on East Cheltenham Avenue. A 25-year-old woman was driving in the area when she suddenly lost control of her vehicle, slamming into a parked car. She got out of her vehicle to inspect the damage when she was suddenly struck by an Audi.
The woman was immediately thrown approximately 30 feet before she landed in a nearby snowbank. The driver of the Audi fled the scene of the crash but was followed by somebody in a pickup truck who witnessed the accident.
Paramedics took the 25-year-old woman to Einstein Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. She has been listed in critical condition.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time. Police did not say if they found the driver responsible for the accident.
No further details have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
