Philadelphia, PA – Pedestrian Accident Involving Dirt Bike at Torresdale Ave & Marple St
Philadelphia, PA (June 13, 2023) – On Monday afternoon, June 12, a pedestrian accident involving a dirt bike rider took place at an intersection in Philadelphia.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident occurred at the intersection of Torresdale Avenue and Marple Street. Police confirmed that a young girl was exiting a school bus at the intersection when she was suddenly struck by the rider of a dirt bike. The rider got back on the dirt bike and tried to flee but was kept at the scene by neighbors until police arrived.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The girl, identified only as a 13-year-old, sustained cut to her head and was taken to a nearby hospital. She has since been listed in stable condition. The rider of the dirt bike, identified as a 17-year-old, was also hurt but is expected to be okay.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time following the accident. Police confirmed that the rider received tickets but did not say if he was arrested for his role in the collision.
