Philadelphia, PA (January 10, 2023) – One person sustained injuries in a bus-related accident that took place at a Philadelphia intersection on Tuesday afternoon, January 10.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 52nd Street and Haverford Avenue. Police confirmed that a SEPTA bus was traveling in the area when it collided with a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not fully known. Due to the first collision, a second passenger vehicle also ran off the side of the road and struck a curb. The vehicles were left with severe damages in the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and other Philadelphia responders were dispatched to the scene. One person inside one of the passenger vehicles, who has not yet been formally identified, sustained injuries in the accident. They were rushed to Presbyterian Hospital for treatment, though their current condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
