Philadelphia, PA – Multiple Parties Injured in Collision on Vine St Expy

Philadelphia, PA (April 21, 2023) – Several parties were hurt in a multi-vehicle collision that took place on a Philadelphia highway on the morning of Thursday, April 20.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 9 a.m. on the Vine Street Expressway (I-676) around the area of I-95. Police confirmed that several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic when they collided with each other, causing one of the vehicles to overturn. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged and debris was left scattered all over the roadway.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. It was reported that several victims sustained injuries in the accident. The injured victims were rushed to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not entirely known.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic for hours before police were able to fully clear the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time. Police will update with new information as it becomes available.
