Philadelphia, PA (September 4, 2020) – Around noon today, September 4, a motorcycle accident took place at an intersection in Philadelphia.
The accident, according to police, took place at the intersection of 57th Street and Hazel Avenue when a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle collided. A 27-year-old man was driving southbound on Hazel Avenue when he started to make a U-turn at the intersection. His motorcycle collided with a Volkswagen Jetta, causing the Jetta to strike a Ford Fusion in the area.
The unidentified driver of the motorcycle was thrown from his bike and was taken to the hospital with major injuries. He remains in critical condition at this time.
The occupants of the Volkswagen fled the scene of the accident and left the car behind. Authorities are still searching for them.
No charges have been brought at this time but the investigation is currently ongoing.
