Philadelphia, PA – Man Killed in Fatal Truck Accident on Essington Ave

Philadelphia, PA (January 20, 2021) – Around 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, January 20, a man was killed in a fatal truck accident in Philadelphia.

According to officials, the accident happened at 6600 Essington Avenue. Police arrived at the scene to find that a passenger vehicle was trying to pass a tractor-trailer when it became involved in an accident. The passenger vehicle then struck a pole in the area, which led to extensive damages.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the collision. A 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. A second unidentified man was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for treatment of critical injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area for some time until police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
