Philadelphia, PA – Man Injured in Critical Bicycle Accident at 7th St & Callowhill St

Philadelphia, PA (April 9, 2023) – A man was critically injured in a serious bicycle accident that took place at a Philadelphia intersection on the afternoon of Sunday, April 9.

According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at the intersection of 7^th Street and Callowhill Street. Police confirmed that a man was riding his electric bicycle headed north on 7^th when he went through the intersection. His bicycle was involved in a collision with an SUV that was headed west, causing him to be thrown from the bike.

Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The bicyclist, who has only been identified as a 47-year-old man, was critically injured due to being thrown from his bike. He was rushed to Jefferson Hospital but his current condition is not yet known.

The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time.
