Philadelphia, PA – Julia Abraham Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Fairmount Ave
Philadelphia, PA (December 29, 2022) – A woman was killed in a fatal hit-and-run accident that took place in Philadelphia on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 28.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at an unknown time at 370 Fairmount Avenue. Police confirmed that an individual in a stolen white Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling in the area when the driver slammed into an SUV, which was parked near a corner store while the driver went inside to buy a lottery ticket.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. There was a woman sitting inside the vehicle that was struck, who has since been identified as 78-year-old Julia Mae Abraham. She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
Police confirmed that the driver of the stolen Jeep continued onward and slammed into five other parked vehicles The driver fled the scene and was not found by police that night.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time. It is not known if the police found the driver responsible for the accident.
