Philadelphia, PA (August 4, 2023) – On Friday night, August 4, a hit-and-run bicycle accident took place at an intersection in Philadelphia.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pattison Street and Broad Street. Police confirmed that the collision happened near FDR Drive when a driver struck a bicyclist and a pedestrian. The driver who struck them sped off and attempted to flee the scene but collided with a tree.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 37-year-old bicyclist and 55-year-old pedestrian were injured as a result of the accident. The bicyclist is expected to be okay, and the pedestrian is currently listed in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle was also hospitalized.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes of the area until police cleared the scene. Police did not confirm if any arrests were made as a result of the accident.
