Philadelphia, PA – Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on N Mascher St

Philadelphia, PA (April 26, 2023) – Around 2 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, April 23, a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident took place in Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 5600 North Mascher Street. Police confirmed that a vehicle was traveling south in the Olney neighborhood when it collided with a pedestrian who was standing outside of their vehicle. The driver of the vehicle immediately fled the scene without stopping.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified as a 47-year-old man, was rushed to Einstein Medical Center with severe trauma. He was tragically pronounced deceased while there. Nobody else was injured in the accident.

The area was blocked off for an extended period of time following the accident.

Police did not yet identify the driver but said that the driver was in either a white or a silver BMW SUV. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing at this time.
