Philadelphia, PA – Fatal Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident on Claridge St

Philadelphia, PA (June 22, 2023) – A motorcyclist was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on Wednesday night, June 21, in Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. in the Juniata Park neighborhood at Claridge Street and Luzerne Street. Police confirmed that a passenger vehicle was traveling south on Claridge when it started to make a right turn as a motorcyclist was traveling west on Luzerne. The two vehicles collided with each other. After the accident, the driver of the passenger vehicle fled the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The male motorcyclist was severely injured and was transported to Temple University Hospital for life-threatening injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital upon arrival.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes for some time after the collision. Police searched for the driver of the Chrysler responsible for the accident and said that they identified the driver. They did not say if the driver is facing charges as of yet.
