Philadelphia, PA (October 6, 2021) – At 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening, October 6, a fatal hit-and-run bicycle accident occurred on a major roadway in Philadelphia.
According to police, the accident happened on Roosevelt Boulevard around the area of Adams Avenue. An adult male was riding his bicycle in the area and started to cross Adams when he was struck by a passenger vehicle. The vehicle did not remain at the scene but witnesses said that it was a pickup truck.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The victim was found unresponsive lying next to his mountain bike. He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead while there.
Police did not say if they found the driver responsible for the accident. The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
