Philadelphia, PA – Fatal Accident Involving Pedestrian on Jasper StLawPaWriter
Philadelphia, PA (November 19, 2020) – Around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, November 19, a fatal accident involving a pedestrian took place in Philadelphia.
Police confirmed that the accident occurred on jasper Street around the area of Allegheny Avenue. A 22-year-old was driving his green Kia SUV heading in the wrong direction on the roadway at the time of the accident. His vehicle collided head-on into a Chevrolet Malibu being operated by a 47-year-old woman at the intersection.
A male pedestrian was walking in the area at the time of the accident and was also struck by one or both of the vehicles.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of the accident to assist those in need. The 47-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Kia was hospitalized but recovered. He is now in police custody.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
