Philadelphia, PA – Child Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Eastwood StLawPaWriter
Philadelphia, PA (September 16, 2021) – Around 6 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, September 15, a child was killed in a pedestrian accident in Philadelphia.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 6900 Eastwood Street. A 5-year-old boy was crossing the street when he was suddenly struck by a Chevy Silverado that was driving in the area. The driver of the Chevy remained at the scene until police arrived at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help. The 5-year-old boy sustained severe injuries in the accident. He was rushed to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children but was tragically pronounced dead while there.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
