Philadelphia, PA (September 25, 2022) – On Saturday night, September 24, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident in Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Allegheny Avenue and Janney Street. A motorcyclist was traveling in the area when he became involved in a rear-end collision with a passenger vehicle at the intersection’s red light. The motorcycle then slammed into two more vehicles that were parked alongside the road in the area. The motorcycle sustained severe damages in the collision.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has since been identified as 52-year-old Benjamin Gines, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Nobody else was hurt as a result of the crash.

The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time. Police say that charges are pending as a result of the accident.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision continues.
