Philadelphia, PA – Avante Reynolds Killed in Fatal Crash on Cobbs Creek PkwyLaw Pa
Philadelphia, PA (August, 22, 2020) – Around 8:30 p.m. last night, August 21, a woman was killed in a fatal crash that took place in Philadelphia.
Police confirmed that the accident took place on Cobbs Creek Parkway around the area of Catharine Street. At the time, 25-year-old Avante Reynolds was walking out of a nearby park and crossing the street near the intersection on foot. She was suddenly struck by a vehicle that was traveling north at the time.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene of the accident but instead fled headed northbound. Reynolds then fell, where she was struck by a second vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
Reynolds was immediately taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Though police have not yet identified the party responsible for the accident, they believe that the driver may have been in a light-colored vehicle. Authorities found pieces of the vehicle left behind at the intersection.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
