Perry W. Bonasso Killed in Burrell Township Accident on Route 22
Burrell Township, Pennsylvania (September 3, 2017) – One person died in a fiery crash involving two tractor-trailers in Indiana County on Tuesday morning, according to state police.
The fatal crash took place on the morning of August 29, on Route 22, in the area of Penn View Mountain in Burrell Township.
A flatbed tractor-trailer was rear-ended by a tandem tractor-trailer which burst into flames as a result, as per state police.
The operator of the truck that was burnt identified by the coroner as Perry W. Bonasso, 57, of Coraopolis, was killed.
According to coroner, autopsy results indicated that Bonasso might have had a medical emergency before the crash.
The other driver was not injured in the crash.
Route 22 West was blocked near Palmerton Road for several hours to pave the way for investigation at the crash site.
