Penn Hills, PA (June 13, 2019) – Police and witnesses confirmed that a 66-year-old man was struck and killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on Saltzburg Road.
According to police, the accident took place around the area of the Penn Hills McDonald’s. A witness spoke with police and said that they were getting out of their vehicle with their children when they heard a huge bang and noticed that a man was struck.
The man had been crossing the road at Saltzburg Road and the vehicle was coming fast. The driver attempted to slam on their brakes but was not able to, causing them to slide and strike the pedestrian.
Paramedics were quickly called to the scene and attempted to revive the man but they were unable to do so. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla that struck the man stayed at the scene. Police did not confirm if there will be any charges but their investigation continues at this time.
