Penn Hills, PA – Critical Injuries Reported in Car Crash on Frankstown Rd

Penn Hills, PA (December 16, 2022) – Critical injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Penn Hills on the evening of Thursday, December 15.

According to Allegheny County Police, the accident happened around 6:50 p.m. at 10900 Frankstown Road. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling in a Toyota Rav4 in the area when their vehicle was involved in a collision with a Subaru Legacy due to reasons that are not entirely known. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the crash.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A woman inside the Subaru was critically injured in the accident. A 3-year-old child and three other adult women inside the vehicle sustained injuries but have been listed in stable condition at this time. The driver of the Toyota was not hurt in the accident and was traveling by herself.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes until police were able to clear the scene. This led to extensive delays for some time.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
