Orwigsburg, PA – Head-on Crash with Injuries at Summer Valley Rd Intersection

Orwigsburg, PA (November 24, 2020) – Around 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday evening, November 18, a head-on crash occurred at an intersection in Orwigsburg.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the accident took place at the intersection of Route 61 and Summer Valley Road when two vehicles collided head-on. Police confirmed that 68-year-old Abreu Modesto was in a Honda Pilot and tried to turn left onto Summer Valley. At the same time, a 63-year-old named John Twardzik was driving a Chevrolet Malibu and was traveling north.

Police confirmed that the vehicles were unable to avoid the collision, causing both to collide head-on. They both sustained severe damages.

Twardzik was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Modesto also received injuries and was taken to the hospital. He was also charged for the crash.

Both vehicles had to be towed away from the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
