Old Lycoming Twp, PA – Fatal Motorcycle Crash at Lycoming Creek Rd & Mahaffey Ln

Old Lycoming Township, PA (May 12, 2022) – Around 12:44 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 11, a fatal motorcycle crash took place at an intersection in Old Lycoming Township.

According to local officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Lycoming Creek Road and Mahaffey Lane. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Lycoming Creek while a garbage truck driver was making a turn headed west on Mahaffey. This caused the two vehicles to collide with each other in the intersection, leading to extensive damage.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, identified as a 30-year-old male, was rushed to UPMC Williamsport where he was tragically pronounced deceased.

Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for approximately two and a half hours. Police were able to clear the scene and traffic returned to normal in the area.
