Newville, PA – Teen Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Ritner Hwy

Newville, PA (May 10, 2023) – Authorities say that on Monday, May 8, a teen lost their life in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on a highway in Newville.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around noon at 3400 Ritner Highway in the area of Route 11. Police confirmed that a 17-year-old was riding on a 1999 Kawasaki motorcycle when the motorcycle was suddenly involved in a serious collision with a tractor-trailer. This left both vehicles with damages.

Several local responders, including Newville paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 17-year-old motorcyclist was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to severe trauma, even though he was wearing a helmet. The driver of the truck was not hurt in the collision.

A large portion of the roadway was blocked following the accident until police cleared the scene.
