New Wilmington, PA (February 25, 2023) – At 5:30 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, February 25, a man was killed in a fatal collision involving a buggy in New Wilmington.
According to Mercer County deputies, the accident happened at 400 New Castle-Mercer Road. A buggy was traveling in the area when it was suddenly rear-ended by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The buggy was forced completely off of the road, causing it to land in a nearby field. The driver inside the buggy was ejected as a result.
Several New Wilmington responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The buggy driver, who has since been identified as 77-year-old Daniel Miller, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt as a result of the collision.
Both the vehicle and the buggy sustained severe damage, and tow trucks were on the scene. There were extensive delays in the area for some time.
No further details have been released, but the investigation into the collision continues. We would like to take this time to offer our warmest condolences to the family and friends of the victim during these difficult times.
