New Stanton, PA (June 26, 2018) – A Pennsylvania Turnpike accident led to disaster for one couple, who had to be flown to the hospital with injuries.
The husband and wife were quickly taken by a flight to a Pittsburgh hospital after their motorcycle was involved in a serious crash on Thursday evening. The accident took place on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near New Stanton. A car was also involved in the wreck.
It took place around 4:25 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the PA Turnpike when they were struck by the other vehicle and thrown from the bike.
The couple was quickly transferred to the UPMC Trauma Center by helicopter. Their motorcycle received heavy damages. No other injuries were reported by those involved in the accident.
The police quickly worked to investigate and blocked westbound lanes of the turnpike to do so.
