Nescopeck, PA – Two Officers Injured in Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-80

Nescopeck, PA (November 12, 2022) – Two officers were hurt in a tractor-trailer accident that happened on a highway in Nescopeck on Saturday morning, November 12.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 3 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-80. Two police officers were inside a marked patrol cruiser and investigating an earlier crash. Suddenly, their vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer that was traveling in the area. Their vehicle was left unrecognizable due to severe damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Nescopeck responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Both troopers, who have not yet been formally identified, were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. They are expected to make a full recovery.

Two lanes of traffic were temporarily shut down in the area for some time after the accident. The vehicles had to be towed from the scene and all debris cleared.
