Myerstown, PA (June 1, 2022) – Around 6:46 a.m. on Wednesday morning, June 1, a fatal motorcycle accident took place in Myerstown.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened at the intersection of PA-501 and King Street. A Chey Blazer was traveling north and headed to the intersection while a motorcyclist was headed south. The driver of the Blazer started to make a left turn, which is when the two vehicles collided with each other. Police confirmed that the Blazer made a turn without clearing it properly and first looking for the motorcyclist.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, identified as a 54-year-old man, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Balzer was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment of a minor injury.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time. Police confirmed that there are charges being brought against the driver of the Blazer.
