Mt Joy, PA – Dean Lehman Killed in Fatal Car Accident on PA-743

Mount Joy, PA (July 1, 2023) – On Thursday evening, June 29, a man was killed in a fatal two-vehicle collision on a major roadway in Mount Joy.

According to Northwest Regional Police Department officials, the accident happened at 6:17 p.m. on PA-743 around the area of PA-283. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they were involved in a collision with one another due to reasons that are not entirely known. The involved vehicles both sustained heavy damages in the collision.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One of the individuals involved in the accident, identified as 55-year-old Dean Lehman, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anybody else was injured.

The roadway was blocked in both directions for several hours. Police reopened the road around 10:45 p.m.

No further details have been released at this time but the investigation into the collision continues.
