Montgomery County Worker Killed, Another Injured in Franconia Pedestrian Crash

Franconia Township, Pennsylvania (September 6, 2017) – An employee of Montgomery County Public Works was killed and another injured after being hit by a vehicle in Franconia Township on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a statement from Franconia Township Police Department, the incident happened shortly before 3 p.m. at West Broad Street and Gateway Drive near West Broad Street Elementary.

The workers were painting lines when they were struck by a vehicle.

The employees suffered major injuries and were taken to Temple University Hospital and Grandview hospital.

One patient, however, succumbed to injuries.

The vehicle that struck the workers remained at the scene, and the driver cooperated with the police.

The identities of the victims were withheld pending notification of their families.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
