Mercer, PA – Two-Vehicle Crash with Injuries at SR-58 & Schaffer Rd

Mercer, PA (August 9, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a two-vehicle collision that took place at an intersection in Mercer on Tuesday morning, August 9.

According to Pennsylvania State Police deputies, the accident happened around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of SR-58 and Schaffer Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when police reported that the vehicles entered the intersection at the same time. This caused the vehicles to collide, which led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One of the involved drivers, who has not yet been identified, was injured in the accident. The injured victim was hospitalized but is expected to be okay.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as they could so traffic could resume.
