Mechanicsburg, PA (July 27, 2023) – At 7:15 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, July 25, a firetruck accident with injuries took place on a roadway in Mechanicsburg.
According to Upper Allen Police, the accident happened at 1200 East Lisburn Road. Police confirmed that a driver was in a Subaru traveling at a high rate of speed when they suddenly lost control. Their vehicle went over the line into the path of a firetruck owned by the Lisburn Community Fire Company. The vehicles collided, both sustaining severe damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The woman driving the Subaru sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. An occupant inside the firetruck, who has not yet been identified, also sustained injuries and was hospitalized. They are expected to be okay.
Police claim that the firetruck was not on its way to an emergency at the time of the crash. The roadway was blocked for a short period of time after the accident.
