McKeesport, PA (July 26, 2018) Early Thursday morning, at 2:45 a.m., a pedestrian accident occurred in the Harrison Village housing complex on Brownlee Street. A 32-year old woman named Jackiia Williams tried to run over someone after an argument escalated. As she tried to run that person over, she instead ran over a 72-year old man standing on a sidewalk.  Officials state the man is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Charges against Jackiia Williams are currently pending.

Pedestrian Accidents in Pennsylvania

Pedestrian accidents are devastating because they almost always end in fatalities. Unfortunately, people don’t walk around wearing enough bodily protection to shield themselves from the impact of a 3,000-pound vehicle. Pedestrian accidents are usually due to negligence. Even though it’s a driver’s responsibility to be aware of pedestrians at all times, even in the most unfathomable places, drivers still get distracted and run over and into pedestrians.

Because the 72-year old man is suffering severe injuries, he could file a personal injury lawsuit against Williams to receive compensation for current and future medical expenses. Although money won’t take away his pain and suffering, it will still help relieve any financial worries.

At Edelstein, Martin & Nelson, our clients’ well-being is important to us, which is why we make sure we commit to their cases until they receive the financial assistance they’re indebted to. Our clients should not have to self-pay for injuries caused by another person’s negligent behavior. If you, or someone you love, received personal injuries in a pedestrian accident, call 888-208-1810.
