Manheim, PA – Six Inmates Injured in Bus Crash on PA Tpke

Manheim, PA (October 30, 2020) – Around 9 a.m. on Friday morning, October 30, six inmates were injured as a result of a bus crash in Manheim.

According to authorities, the accident took place on the Pennsylvania Turnpike when the driver of a Department of Corrections bus lost control due to reasons that are not yet known, crashing on the highway.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident to assist those in need. Six inmates were injured and were transported to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for treatment. Their conditions are not yet known.

The inmates, who were being transported with 32 others, were on a bus headed east when the driver lost control.

The roadway was closed in multiple lanes as a result of the crash.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
