Man Hurt in Rostraver Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident
Man Injured in Car-Motorcycle Collision at Route 51 and McKenery Drive
Rostraver, Pennsylvania (September 19, 2017) – The police are investigating a major injury hit-and-run car-motorcycle collision that occurred at an intersection in Rostraver on Saturday morning.
The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. September 16, at the intersection of Route 51 and McKenery Drive, near the C. Harper Ford building.
According to the police, a northbound car turned left at the intersection and struck a 20-year-old motorcyclist from Ruff Dale. The impact of the collision threw the rider and his motorcycle down a 70-feet embankment.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and rescued the man before he was taken to Pittsburgh Trauma Center in unknown condition. The identity of the teenage motorcyclist was not immediately established.
Meanwhile, the police are looking for the driver of the vehicle, described as a 2012 Ford Focus, who fled the scene after striking the motorcyclist.
