Bus Accidents in Pennsylvania
Being involved in any type of collision can have a severe impact on your life. As you can imagine, bus accidents are more likely to be mass casualty incidents due to the fact that they carry multiple people at once. Individuals who are involved in these accidents are likely to suffer serious injuries. Unfortunately, many crashes that we see take place on our roads are preventable.
Some of the leading factors in bus accidents that take place across our state include:
- Driver Fatigue: Bus drivers who are overly tired or have not had sufficient rest can experience impaired judgment and slower reaction times. This can increase the risk of having an accident.
- Negligent Bus Company Practices: Bus companies that neglect safety regulations or fail to hire drivers who are qualified to operate the vehicles can be held liable for any accidents that are caused.
- Other Drivers’ Actions: Bus accidents can result from the actions of other motorists, such as changing lanes suddenly, failing to yield, and running red lights.
- Distracted Driving: Distractions like using a phone, adjusting the radio, or eating while driving can take a bus driver’s attention from the road and result in serious collision.
