Lower Moreland, PA (October 17, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a fatal accident that took place in Lower Moreland on Saturday evening, October 15.
Lower Moreland Police confirmed that the accident happened around 7:31 p.m. at 3300 Philmont Avenue. A pedestrian was walking in the area when they started to cross the street and they were struck by a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not yet known. The driver stopped and remained at the scene of the accident after it happened.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was allegedly injured as a result of the accident.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the road was blocked for some time. Police cleared the scene entirely within six hours.
The investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident remains ongoing. Police will update with new information as it becomes available.
