Lititz, PA – Serious Injuries Reported in Car Crash Involving Buggy on Clay Rd

Lititz, PA (June 8, 2022) – Around 7:24 a.m. on Wednesday morning, June 8, one person was seriously injured in a horse and buggy accident in Lititz.

According to local officials, the accident happened on Clay Road. The driver of a white Subaru was traveling in the area when they started to drive up a hill. They slammed into an Amish buggy from behind, which the driver did not see due to the hill. Both vehicles sustained immense damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The horse involved in the accident was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. A man who was riding in the buggy was seriously injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. Their condition is not known at this time but they are expected to be okay. The driver of the Subaru was not hurt.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time following the crash. Police quickly worked to clear the scene. It is not known if the driver of the Subaru will be charged for their role in the accident.
