Lebanon, PA – Driver of FedEx Truck Killed in Fatal Accident on I-81

Lebanon, PA (May 9, 2022) – Around noon on Saturday, May 7, one person was killed in a fatal truck accident in Lebanon.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-81 around the area of PA-934 and exit 85A. Police confirmed that a FedEx tractor-trailer was hauling items in the area when the driver went into another lane of traffic in an attempt to change lanes. When doing so, his truck collided with a second vehicle. The FedEx truck forcefully rolled over as a result.

Medics were dispatched to the scene to assist those in need. The driver of the FedEx truck, who has only been identified as a 50-year-old man, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. There was also a passenger inside the truck who had to be extricated by fire crews and was rushed to Hershey Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the sedan was not hurt.

Due to the severity of the accident, most lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released. Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
