Lancaster, PA – Fatal Motorcycle Accident Takes One Life on Rte 462
Lancaster, PA (August 15, 2022) – One person lost their life in a fatal motorcycle accident that happened on a major roadway in Lancaster on Sunday night, August 14.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 10:10 p.m. on Route 462 around the area of the Strasburg Pike and the Route 30 exit. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling in the area when they were suddenly struck by a pickup truck due to reasons that are not fully known. The motorcycle was extensively damaged in the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has since been identified as 43-year-old Tyrone Gardner, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt as a result of the crash.
The roadway was blocked in the area for several hours as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. Pennsylvania State Police officials continue their investigation into the accident.
