Lancaster County, PA (July 12, 2018) On Thursday morning, around 2:20 a.m., a fatal crash occurred on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The accident happened near marker 291, leaving one person dead and three people injured. The crash closed westbound travel lanes between the Morgantown and Reading exits. Officials did not reveal any identities.
Officials have not released the specifics of the accident. It’s not specified if one of the drivers was driving under the influence, or if one of the drivers fell asleep at the wheel. The road conditions were not specified either; however, more investigation will determine who is liable and at fault.
It’s not uncommon for injuries and fatalities to occur in a multi-vehicle accident. Officials did not reveal the severity of the three injured persons’ injuries; however, if an investigation proves the accident occurred because of negligent driving, then personal injury lawsuits can be filed. Negligent driving is the most common cause for accidents; therefore, injured persons deserve compensation for medical expenses, loss of wages, and non-economical damages. Since a fatality occurred, the deceased person’s family member could take legal action to file a wrongful death suit. Although wrongful death lawsuits are complex due to legal regulations, families can still benefit and gain proper assistance for financial burdens.
At Edelstein, Martin, & Nelson, we do not take our clients’ cases lightly. We believe our clients deserve every ounce of financial assistance for their damages and losses, especially if the accident resulted from negligence. Although no amount of money can replace a loved one, families still deserve compensation for medical expenses if they’ve lost a loved one in a tragic accident. If you, or someone you love, was involved in a multi-vehicle accident, call 888-208-1810.
