Jonestown, PA (February 4, 2023) – Around 4 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, February 2, a car accident with injuries took place at a Jonestown intersection.
According to Lebanon County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of PA-72 and Awol Road. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other at the intersection. A third vehicle was traveling in the area and waiting to make a turn at the intersection and was struck by one of the vehicles involved in the initial collision. The accident led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Two people inside the first two vehicles were injured in the accident. They were identified as a 33-year-old man from Lebanon and a 76-year-old woman from Jonestown. The parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the road was blocked at the intersection for some time. This led to extensive delays until police fully cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
We would like to offer our warmest sympathies to the injured parties with hopes of a speedy recovery.
